True Love Part 3

Disclaimer:  I don't own Rugrats or All Grown Up

Tough Kimi: Part I

Note: This is a few month after the last chapter.  Kimi has turned 12.  Tommy turned 11 in the last chapter since he’s admitted he’s 10 in the series.  Plus Kimi is supposed to by 1½ in Rugrats, so that should make her about 6 months older than Tommy which should be a bit before this chapter.  It’s the middle of spring break and nothing else has happened between Tommy and Kimi since Tommy’s birthday party.

Tommy and the gang are hanging out at the beach.  Tommy looks up at the sky; his hand is placed above his eyes to keep the sun out.  He smiles and sighs happily.  Removing his hand, he looks around and sees a bunch of people running around.  He also sees Lil laying down trying to get a tan, Dil is building a very weird sand castle, and Phil is playing in the mud at the shore.  However Tommy’s face starts to show some concern.  Just then Chuckie approached him.

“What’s up T?”  He chuckled happily.

Tommy jumped in surprise.  “Oh nothing!  Nothing’s wrong.  I was just wondering where Kimi was.  I haven’t seen her since we got here.”  Tommy laughed nervously.

“Oh!  Well I’m surprise you haven’t seen her.  She’s right over there.”  Chuckle smiled as he pointed behind Tommy.

Tommy turned around and he couldn’t believe what he saw.  Kimi was just coming out of the water and, with the angle of the sun just right, she looked very beautiful.  Tommy was jaw dropped.

4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . !

Every birthday, my mom and dad would say you’re another year older, another year wiser

But I still go to school to get an education I treat each and every day like a mini vacation!

All Grown Up! I really wanna shout it out!

All Grown Up! I want the world to know!

All Grown Up! I really wanna shout it out!

All Grown Up with you

All Grown Up . . . with . . . you!

Chuckie looked at Tommy strangely.  Tommy was still staring at the place where Kimi was just at, even though she was long gone.  Chuckie waved his hand in front of his friends face, no reaction.  He then leaned right next to Tommy’s ear and yelled rather loudly.  Tommy jumped and covered his ears.  “Well that snapped you out of it T.”  Chuckie laughed.

“Snapped me out of what?”  Tommy asked rather questionably.

“Well, for starters you suddenly zoned out when you saw my sister a minute ago.”  Chuckle snickered.

“No I didn’t!”  Tommy argued.

“Then tell me why did I have to yell in your ear huh?”  Chuckie asked rather sneakily.

Tommy was left rather dumbfounded and at a lost for words.  Tommy coughed in a rather embarrassing way.  “Um . . . listen Chuckie.  Let’s say, hypothetically, I did like Kimi more than a friend; which I don’t but still . . . would you freak out?”

“Well then Tommy, I’d probably hound you night and day.”  Chuckie said rather sternly.  Tommy was shocked.  Chuckie just laughed, “I’m just joking T, I’d be more than happy for you to go out with my sister.  Hypothetically speaking of course.”  He said that last part in a joking manner.

Tommy seemed really startled and surprised.  “But when Kimi was hanging out with Z you . . .”

Chuckie put his hand in front of Tommy.  “Listen T, when I did that I admit I was being too overprotective of her; however that was because of all the things I heard about Z.  I’ve but that all behind me and I’m willing to trust Kimi on who she goes out with.  And I wouldn’t be happier than for her to go out with my best friend.”  He smiled.

“Hypothetically speaking.”  Tommy made sure to add.

“Yeah, whatever.”  Chuckie brushed off.

Suddenly Tommy had finally caught Kimi in his sights again.  He turned is head to get another look at her.  He finally noticed she was wearing a green and yellow mixed color pre-teen type bikini and she had let her hair down.  He smiled happily.  Just then something caught his eye.  A group of three guys, they looked like High Scholars, were approaching her.  “Hey C, do you trust guys like them with Kimi?”  He asked rather seriously as he pointed to the guys.

Chuckie turned to see them.  He gasped and looked at Tommy.  “No way man!  Come on; let’s go get the lifeguard.”  He hollered as he bolted towards the Lifeguard Tower.  Tommy nodded and followed.

Meanwhile

Kimi stretched her arms as she walked across the beach.  Not a person was around as far as she knew.  “I wonder where Tommy is; I want to show him my new suit.”  She sighed rather disappointedly.

“Who’s Tommy?  Your boyfriend.”  A voice asked from behind.  Kimi jumped and turned around.  She saw a group of guys wearing bathing suits and t-shirts that said the name of a high school she couldn’t pronounce.  “Cause you can show it off to us if you want.”  The guy in the middle, who seemed to be the leader, laughed as he leaned closer to Kimi.

Kimi took a step back and waver her hand in front of her nose.  “Phew!  Are you guys drunk or something?”

“Yep!”  The three guys replied with pride.  “Doesn’t it make us look better looking?”  The middle guy asked with a grin.

“Quite the opposite,” Kimi sighed, “Now if you’d excuse me.”  She turned around and started to walk away.

Just then, the middle guy grabbed her arm.  “Oh no you don’t.”  He snickered.

“Let go!”  Kimi ordered.

“Oh, I don’t think so.  Do you guys?”  He turned to his friends, who shook there heads in excitement.  “Well then, there you have it.”  He laughed.

Kimi struggled to get free; each failed attempt got her more and more angry.  “Let . . . Me . . . Go . . . You . . . JERK!”  On that last part, she spun around and punched the guy.  He fell to the ground, his nose bleeding.  The other two guys gasped.

Kimi couldn’t believe what she just did.  She looked at her fist in shock and gasped in horror; it was covered in blood.  Never before had she lost it so bad that she punched someone.  Soon the guy got up and was rather ticked off.  She backed up a few steps with her hands in front of her.  “I am very sorry.”  She pleaded.

“Yeah, you’re darn right you’re sorry.”  The guy grumbled.  With that he slapped Kimi across the face, knocking her to the ground.  Kimi sat up and just looked at him in shock.  There was a red hand mark on her cheek that was barely visible.

The three guys laughed very sinisterly at Kimi, who is lying still in shock.  Suddenly a whistle was being blown.  The three turned to see the lifeguard running towards them with Chuckie and Tommy right behind him.  The three decided to bale.

Chuckie and Tommy approached Kimi while the lifeguard ran after the guys.  They put a towel around her.

“Kimi are you alright?  Kimi!”  Chuckie cried.  Kimi just sat there still in shock; her face and posture hadn’t changed.

“Come on Kimi snap out of it.”  Tommy cried.

The lifeguard walked back to them.  The two looked at him but he shook his head.  “Sorry, they got away.”  He sighed.  He punched his right hand with his left fist.  “Darn it, I’ve got to keep a better eye on this section.  Those guys did something like this last week.”  He kneeled down next to Kimi.  He seemed to recognize the look on her face.  He faced Tommy and Chuckie.  “I’m sorry for not doing my job.”  He said sadly.

“Will she be alright?”  Tommy asked worryingly.

“She’ll be fine; she’s just in a state of shock.  Give her some time.”  The lifeguard sighed.  Tommy and Chuckie nodded slowly.  “Oh, and I don’t think anyone else besides her parents ought to know about this.  Trust me, a girl her age doesn’t need this kind of incident known to everyone.”  Again the two nodded.  The lifeguard made a small smile, got up, and left.

Tommy and Chuckie looked at each other.  “What do you think those guys were doing to Kimi?”  Tommy wondered.

“I don’t know.  I really don’t know.”  Chuckie sighed.  The two looked at Kimi, who was still in a state of shock.

A few days later

Kimi is lying in bed fast asleep.  She’s fidgeting back and forth and moaning.  “No, no, get away.”  She is, obviously, having a bad dream.

In her dream

She’s back on the beach running.  She looks behind her and sees the three drunken high scholars chasing her.

“Come to us.”  The middle guy smiled.

“We just want to play.”  The one on the left laughed.

“Stay away from me.”  Kimi cried with tears in her eyes.  She turned to face front and gasped in horror.  The three guys were no in front of her.  She tried to stop herself but she ended up running into the guy in the middle.  The one who grabbed her and slapped her.

Kimi tried to get away but the same group of guys chasing her were standing right behind her.  She tried to make a break for the left but another group of the same guys appeared there and to her right.  She was surrounded.  The four middle guys laughed manically at her.  Then they started to slap her around laughing as they did.

Kimi cried and cried as she was being beaten.  “Please stop.”  She cried.

Suddenly the slapping stopped.  Kimi was confused as she looked at them questionably.

“Please STOP?”  The middle guy in front of her asked.  “Why would we stop for a wimp like you?”  He laughed.  Kimi gasped in horror.  “You can’t stop us you weakling.”  The four middle guys mocked.  Soon all off the guys laughed.

Kimi is covering her ears, trying to ignore them.  The guys start spinning around, still laughing.  Kimi starts to get very angry.  She removes her hands from her ears and starts balling up her fists.  The guys are still laughing.  “SHUT UP!”  She cried as she punched the first guy in front of her.  He fell to the ground and disappear.  Kimi didn’t stop there, she continue to punch and kick the rest of the guys until all but one of the middle guys was left.  He was still laughing, totally oblivious to what happened to the others.  Kimi just got even more furious.  She tackled him and started bunching him in the face.  “STOP IT!  STOP IT!”  She cried.

In the real world

Kimi is flinging her arms wildly in the air and screaming, at the top of her lungs.  “STOP IT!  STOP IT!”

Kira, Chas, and Chuckie ran in to see what was the matter.  Kimi was still flailing her arms and screaming when Chas ran up to her.  He held his daughter, trying to stop her.  “Kimi!  Kimi wake up!”  He cried.

Kimi’s eyes snapped open and she stopped screaming.  She looked around with a very confuse look on her face.  “What happened?”  She said in a quiet whisper.

“You were having a terrible nightmare Kimi.”  Kira answered in as calm a voice as she could.

Kimi sighed with relief.  “It was just a dream.”

“Are you alright sweetie?”  Chas asked.

Kimi took a deep breath and slowly nodded.  “I think I’ll be fine dad.”

“You sure you don’t want to talk about it Kimi?”  Kira asked.  Kimi shook her head slowly.

“Well then sleep tight Kimi.  Don’t scare us like that again.”  Chas smiled.

“I won’t dad.”  Kimi said happily.  With that, her father got up and walked out the door as did Chuckie.  Kira looked at her daughter, smiled, and started to close the door.  “Mom, wait.”  Kimi called.

Kira re-opened the door, now with a concerned look on her face.  “Yes dear?”

“Can I talk to you alone please?”  Kimi asked quietly.

A few days later

School has already started again.  Tommy walks off the bus and waves bye to his friends.  However he notices Kimi and Chuckie aren’t there.  He knows Chuckie stayed after school to study in the library but Kimi had promised Tommy, during break, to study at his house for the big math test coming up.

‘Maybe her mom picked her up.  After what happened at the beach I wouldn’t put it past her.’  He walked to the Finster’s house and knocked on the door.  Kira answered it.  “Hello Mrs. Finster.”  He smiled.

“Oh hello Tommy.  What can I do for you?”  Kira asked happily.

“Well, I was wondering if Kimi was home, she promised me she and I would study for the big math test this Friday.”  Tommy asked.

“Oh!  Well Kimi must have forgotten all about it because she told me she’d be staying after school in the gym.”  Kira replied rather disappointedly.

“Oh?  Really?  I wonder why?”  Tommy thought aloud.

“Would you like me to drive you back to school?”  Kira requested.

“Huh?  Oh yeah that’d be great.”  Tommy said excitedly.

Later

Tommy waved goodbye to Kira as she drove off.  He had a strange feeling he and Kimi were going to have a long talk so he figured what better place for that than a long walk home.  He ran up to the gym.  ‘Why would Kimi forget our promise and go to the gym?’ he wondered.

Tommy opened the door and entered.  He looked around for Kimi.  The place was practically deserted.  Suddenly he heard a noise.  It sounded like someone fighting.  He turned his head to where the noise was coming from.  He couldn’t believe what he saw.

It was Kimi.  She was in some sort of karate outfit while at a punching bag kicking it in many different ways.  She roundhouse kicked it, she normal kicked it, she even jab kicked it.  She had a very intensely serious look on her face.

Not saying a word, Tommy, slowly, approached Kimi.  She didn’t seem to know he was there cause she just kept on going at the punching bag.  “Uh . . . Kimi?”  He mumbled.

Kimi abruptly stopped and turned her head towards him.  “Oh Tommy!  Hi!”  She said in a very happy voice as she stopped the punching bag from swinging.  “What’s up?”

Tommy was kind of shocked at her sudden change in attitude and didn’t know what to say.  “Uh . . . well . . . you and I were supposed to study together today.”  He tried to get out.

Kimi gasped.  “Oh I’m so sorry.  I completely forgot.  Just give me a second to change.”  With that she ran to the locker room.

Tommy just stood there very dumbfounded.  ‘Who is this girl?  She’s not the Kimi I know.’  He asked himself.

Kimi ran out of the locker room in her usual cloth with her backpack on and a gym bag in her right hand.  “Sorry again.  Come on, let’s go.”  She smiled.  Tommy just nodded and followed.

The two friends were walking, not saying a word.  Kimi was smiling the whole time while Tommy had a very confused look on his face.  He decided to break the ice.  “So . . . uh . . . Kimi, what was all that about back there?”

Kimi seemed rather surprised.  “Huh?  Oh that!  Well I thought it was a time for a change.  So I asked my mother to train me in karate.”

“Your mom knows how to fight?”  Tommy asked very surprised at this.

“Well, she does know the basics.  My grandfather taught her it when she was little.”  Kimi sighed happily.

“Well, whatever makes you happy.  But I would you please let me know next time when you’re canceling a study time.”  Tommy smiled.

“I am really, REALLY sorry about that Tommy.”  Kimi begged.

“It’s okay Kimi really it is.”  Tommy laughed.  Kimi smiled and went back to facing forward.  Tommy smiled too, until he thought of something.  ‘I just hope Kimi doesn’t get carried away with this.’

A few weeks later

Kimi is back in the gym working out on the punching bag.  Chuckie and Tommy are watching her in amazement.

“Man, she’s good isn’t she?”  Tommy smiled.

“Yeah, even mom’s impressed at how good she is.”  Chuckie added.

Just then Kimi stopped.  She took a deep breath and walked towards her gym bag.  She sat down, took out some wooden object, a knife, and started cutting the wood (the wood shavings landed in her bag).

Tommy and Chuckie never saw Kimi do this before.  They moved over towards her and looked at the wooden object.  Kimi noticed this and looked back at them.  “What?”

“What is that thing Kimi?”  Chuckie asked.

“This?  Oh it’s just a bokken.”  She answered.

“A what?”  Tommy and Chuckie asked.

“A bokken is a sword used for Kendo.”  She told them.  She saw they still had no idea what she was talking about.  “Kendo is a type of Japanese sword fighting.”  She moaned.

“Sword fighting!”  The two gasped.

“Yeah sword fight.”  Kimi said bluntly.

“Uh . . . Kimi?  Aren’t you taking this working out thing a bit too far?”  Chuckie asked questionably.

“No!”  Kimi said rather loudly.  Tommy and Chuckie moved out of the way in fright.  Noticing they got the idea, she went back to finishing her bokken.  After a few more cuts she lifted it above her head.  “Finally I’m done!”  She jumped a little forward on the floor and started swinging around with the sword.  When she was done she held her sword close to her and giggled.  Then she put it in her belt, grabbed her backpack and gym bag and ran off, leaving a very confused Tommy and Chuckie.

A few more weeks later

Kimi is outside with her mom.  Both were wearing kendo outfits and had bokken’s; the two were sparring with each other.  Chas and Chuckie just watched in amazement.  A while later Kimi tapped her mom on the head.  She had won.

Kira removed her mask as did Kimi.  “Well done Kimi.”  Kira smiled.

“Thanks mom.”  Kimi blushed.

Chas walked up and put her hand on his daughters shoulder.  “Great job sweetie.”  He smiled, however his voice sounded a little horse when he said that.  Suddenly Kimi grabbed her fathers hand and flipped him over his shoulder, slamming him on his back to the ground.

Kimi gasped at her mistake.  “I’m so sorry dad.”  She panicked.

Kira helped Chas get up.  “It’s okay sweetie.  I shouldn’t have approached you while you were still in the mood.”  He hunched over and held his back in pain.  “Owe.  Besides nothing’s broken, you just threw my back out.”

“Here, let me help.”  Kimi said quickly.  Before Chas could react, Kimi grabbed her father from behind and squeeze him tightly.  There was a loud cracking noise.  When she released him, he stood up straight and smiled at his daughter.  Kimi smiled back.

Days later

Kimi was walking down the halls at school holding her books in her left arm.  Just then Harold approached her.  “Hey Kimi, you got a min . . .” Before he could finish, Kimi had her right arm already at his throat.  Everyone nearby just stared at her in shock.

“If you so much as utter a sound you will be on the floor before you know it.  You got it?”  She snarled.  Harold didn’t even make a noise, he just slowly back away before he high tailed it away from her.  Kimi then continued walking.  Anyone in front of her back away very quickly.

Susie, who had seen the whole thing, was shocked at what her best friend just did.  ‘What was that all about?’  When Kimi walked past her, she snapped out of her surprised state and ran after her.  “Hey Kimi wait up!”  She called.

Kimi turned around and smiled.  “Hey Susie!  How’s it going?”

Susie stopped in surprise.  ‘What just happened here?  First she was ready to cream Harold and now she’s all nice like nothing happened.’  “Well I was just wondering what was that all about?”

“What was what all about?”  Kimi asked.

“Back there!  Why did you threaten Harold like that?”  Susie asked sternly.

Kimi sighed irritably.  “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Don’t want to talk about it!  Kimi it’s me; Susie!  Your best friend!  What is it that’s so important that you can’t even tell me?”  Susie asked rather angrily.

“Listen!  What I do is none of your business!  Just because you’re my best friend doesn’t mean I have to tell you everything!  Goodbye!”  Kimi snapped.  Then she turned around and stormed off to class.  Susie was too ticked off to follow.

Later

Chuckie and Tommy are talking at lunch when Susie walked up.

“Hey Susie, what’s up?”  Tommy smiled.

“Listen guys!  What’s up with Kimi?”  Susie demanded.  Tommy and Chuckie were confused.

“What do you mean?”  Chuckie asked questionably.

“Well, for starters, she just threatened to beat up Harold when he just wanted to talk to her.  Then, when I ask her about it, she snaps at me.  Something’s bothering her and I KNOW you two know something about it.”  She replied very coldly.

The two looked at each other and sighed; then they looked back at her.  “We were afraid this would happen.”  Chuckie sighed sadly.

“What?”  Susie asked.

“Well, first you’ve got to promise not to tell anyone.”  Tommy mentioned.  Susie looked at them quietly before she nodded.  Tommy sighed deeply.  “Remember when we were at the beach?  Well, while we were there, this group of high school guys approached her.”

“What happened?”  Susie asked quickly.

“We don’t really know.”  Chuckie continued.  Susie looked rather irritated.  “We ran to the lifeguard as soon as we saw them.  When we got back, Kimi was on the ground in shock and the guys were laughing at her.  They ran off as soon as we got there and got away.”

Susie was quiet for a few moments with her head down.  Soon she lifted it up.  “Anything else?”  She asked.

“Huh?”  Tommy and Chuckie asked.

“Did anything else happen?”  She asked again, rather angrily.

“Well, she did have a red mark on her face.”  Tommy added.

Susie gasped.  ‘So that’s it.’  She stood up.  “Thank you guys.”  She made a small smile and left.

Later after school

Kimi was at her locker when Susie came up.  Kimi saw her and turned away.

“Kimi, we’ve got to talk.”  Susie replied.

“What do we have to talk about?”  Kimi asked irritably.

“Look, I know why you’re acting like this.”  Susie mentioned.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”  Kimi said plainly as she closed her locker and walked off.

“This has to do with the beach doesn’t it?”  Susie asked.

Kimi stopped and turned around.  “Tommy and Chuckie told you didn’t they?”  She demanded.

Susie walked up to her friend.  “Listen Kimi, did these guys do something to you?”

“Don’t change the subject!  Did they tell you or not?”  Kimi demanded.

“I’m not saying Kimi.  Just answer the question?  Did those guys do something to you or not?”  Susie asked.

Kimi just glared at her friend.  She turned around.  “No.”  She grumbled as she walked off.

“Then I am right.”  Susie sighed.

Kimi stopped and turned around.  “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“You always deny it when I’m right.”  Susie said calmly.  Kimi became very angry.  “Kimi, you can’t blame every guy you know for a group of stranger’s stupidity.”  She sighed as she put her hand on Kimi’s shoulder.

Kimi pushed Susie’s hand off rather hard.  “Just SHUT UP!  What do YOU know about what happened?  It didn’t happen to YOU!  So why don’t you just buzz off and stay out of my life!”  Kimi yelled so loudly that even Pangborn, who had walked by, froze with fear.  With that Kimi stormed off.  Tommy, who had saw the whole thing, sighed sadly.

Later

Kimi was walking through the city.  It’s late at night and the street lamps were on.   She had her backpack still on and her bokken at her side.  She had a very irritated look on her face.  “The nerve of that Susie!  Who does she think she is?”  She grumbled as she kicked a can to the side.  She was about to turn the corner when she stopped.  She moved against the wall and held her bokken.  When the person who was turning the corner came, she pulled out her sword and held it at their throat.

“Wow there Kimi.”  The person gasped.  It was Tommy.  Kimi gasped and, quickly, put her sword away.

“I am SO sorry Tommy.”  Kimi said with a bow.

Tommy just put his hand behind his head and laughed quietly.  “It’s alright Kimi, it happens.”  With that, Kimi put her head back up.

The two didn’t say anything for a moment.

“So . . . you want to go for a walk?”  Tommy asked nervously.

“Yeah!  That’d be good.”  Kimi said rather quickly.

The two started to walk down the street, once again not saying a word.

“Kimi?”

“Tommy?”

The two laughed in embarrassment.  “You go first.”  Kimi replied, waving her hand towards him.

“Well, I was wondering if you’ve been taking this working out thing a tad too seriously?”  Tommy wondered.

Kimi let out an irritated moan.  “Not you too Tommy.  Listen, everything’s fine.”  She said really angrily.

Just then a man came up from behind them.  “Excuse me miss do you . . .”

Before he could finish, Kimi pulled out her bokken, rammed the guy in the gut causing him to hunch over, and then she elbowed him in the back.  Everyone around her, Tommy included, gasped in shock.  Kimi just looked proud of herself.

Just then the guy moaned in pain.  “I . . . {cough} . . . I was just asking . . . for directions.”

Kimi gasped in horror.  She looked at Tommy very panicky as the sound of police sirens could be heard in the distance.

Well?  What do you think?  I got the idea of Kimi doing karate from that recent Christmas episode where baby Kimi did kicks at the rat robots.  Anyway, on the next chapter:

Kimi gets in trouble for what she just did.  Plus she and Tommy run into the guys from the beach!  What will happen?  Will Kimi admit she’s gone too far?  Find out on the next part of Tough Kimi.
This is another part of my Rugrats All Grown Up Fan Fic. In this chapter, something happens to Kimi on the beach that changes her life forever.

Anyone who wants to make Fan Art based off of this fic is welcome to. Just let me know when you do one.

Kimi is scaring me
